Moment with a friend

“We often miss opportunity because it’s dressed in overalls and looks like work” – Thomas A. Edison

Someone else that has inspired me throughout life is my mum. She has always taught me to take every opportunity that appears, even if ‘I can’t be bothered’. She has raised me to be aware that not everyone is lucky enough to have the same opportunities, so I should always take them. Therefore, I always encourage others to do the same, as you never know where one opportunity might lead you! It is good to see that other people are also doing this and even seeking their own opportunities – rather than waiting for them to arise.

“Many people have inspired me through my life. The first person I think of is my friend, Rachel. When I think of Rachel, I always wonder where she will end up in the future as I know her determination, passion and hard work will get her so far in life. She knows her passion and has put a lot of time and effort into it. She has sought opportunities that others would not have even considered. Always looking for her next project to excel in. Throughout, and even before university she completed several internships to aid her in the journey of her career. Even starting her own business before even completing her studies. She has a clear and logical way of thinking, yet also has the ability to think out of the box.

Furthermore, she has faith and belief in all of those around her. Despite her incredible intellect and capability she is also extremely modest and does not see herself as superior or more successful than any of her peers. At times when you find yourself questioning your own capabilities, she will be there cheering you on and reminding you that your boundaries are limitless. That if you want something in life, there is nothing stopping you from getting it.”  Laura Carey.
