Moment with music

Music is one of the best ways to communicate with the world. It can tell a story, bring out emotion and portray a serious message. On our final broadcast, for Television Broadcasting at University, as producer I asked a member of the team to write and perform a song about Climate Change to underpin the overall message of the show. You can see this at the end of the show here.

One band that I find truly inspiring is The Beatles. I find the lyrics intriguing and thought provoking.

“I find inspiration derives from the admiration of successful people. I tend to surround myself with people who give me a motivational drive to thrive in life. I have the upmost respect for individuals who seek to fulfil their dreams, and this is especially true for me in the music industry. Music being a personal passion of mine, has become more than a favourite pastime and hobby, but it has become a way of life.

I have a variety of friends involved in the music scene, from producers to DJs to event organisers to photographers and so on. One of my friends who practiced as a Doctor by day but proceeded to run his own events company by night is an example of an inspiring character to pursue their dreams. This motivation led me to start my own music and lifestyle blog. From giving back to the music community, by writing for several music websites and working at several exciting festivals as an Artist Liaison, I was even offered to intern at a major music PR company.

I was once so fearful of the thought of being left behind whilst my friends went on to pursue their dreams, but here I am now living my own dream.” Aly McHugh.
